Going to Balicamp: the Winners of the Best Trick Awards

Three weeks in the legendary Balicamp, a brand-new custom-made Blue Tomato surfboard and surfbag, accommodation and subsidy for the flight sponsored by Sudden Rush – sounds great, right? Exactly that was to be had for one rider each of the boys and girls at the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 2011. Once again, the international freestyle elite came together at the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein, showing us what they’ve got in absolutely stunning runs. Only two of them, however, had the chance to convince everyone with their best trick.

In the Girls’ contest, Sheryl Maas from the Netherlands showed us how much talent and style she’s got with a great BS 7 Tailgrab and can now justifiably look forward to three weeks of fun in the sun! She managed to come in fourth in the overall rankings and the Best Trick Award on top of that had her stoked: “To me, it’s the best prize there was to win today!”

Sven Thorgren from Sweden is about to be kissed by the sun as well! He carved an absolutely massive Backside 1080 into the snow of the Dachstein glacier, leaving both the judges and the audience open-mouthed. He also ranked fourth after the superfinals. Sven on his trip to the Balicamp: “I’ve never been to Bali and I like surfing, so it’s gonna be awesome!”
